Smile-Gang 530 begins with Misato asking if Nana has been to the newly opened Tokyo Sky Tree yet. The answer is no, because she’s waiting for the hype to die down a bit before visiting. That’s understandable as there’s a lot of people (tourists and Japanese citizens alike) going to the Sky Tree. Misato agrees with Nana’s logic because she also doesn’t want to go when knowing that the place is extremely busy.
The conversation then switches to Misato questioning when Nana first went up the Tokyo Tower. The first time was when Nana participated in a National Karaoke Competition in high school that took her to Tokyo. She had wanted to go to Disneyland, but due to the mindset of “You’re in Tokyo, how could you not visit Tokyo Tower?” she ended up going there instead of Disneyland. ^^;;
Following in Smile-Gang style, the topic strays into whether Nana would like to visit a pyramid someday. Unsurprisingly, she does. She does hold a certain interest towards pyramids. Except she claims that places with pyramids are a little too far.
One thing led to another, and eventually, it was revealed that the place Nana wants to visit the most right now is Mont Saint-Michel in France.
Hopefully her comment won’t make that place a new stalking spot for Nana fans. XDD
Misato then jokingly asks if Nana wants to go to the moon for a trip. Her reply?
Nana: Moon? The moon is scary, so no.
Nana: There’s no air!
Misato: Oh, is that the problem?
Nana: Yes. I don’t want to leave Earth.
Lol. But if she is guaranteed safety in all aspects, then she says she is willing to go. XDD
After the title call, more information about Nana’s life is revealed. There is nowhere in Tokyo (at least no tourist attraction places) that she hasn’t already been to in Tokyo. If she hasn’t gone during her private time, then her job would have taken her there.
Interestingly, after Nana went to Tokyo to study, the first place she went to was Harajuku. Lol.
In the Head Nanau corner, there is the Metro Baroque PV talk. She mentions about the extensive use of CG, which made her acting a bit more difficult than usual. Not only that, but the PV required a lot of the same scenes taken with different angles… so she kept singing the same line and act performing the same actions over and over again. It was truly a battle of endurance and imagination. XD
As for the story of the PV, the attempt to link with Blood-C is apparent. In particular, they tried to link it to Saya (main character of Blood-C for those unfamiliar with the anime). Saya fights with a Japanese sword, and so Nana was given a sword in the PV as well. The same sensei from Shachou Kouen was called in to teach her how to swing the weapon properly. What should be noted was that in Shachou Kouen, she used a sword that was customized to her height. However, in the PV, she uses a non-customized sword, so it was very heavy. It resulted in many NGs. XD;;
Following the Nanau corner is the Don Channel. It’s basically the corner where “everyone has fun.” Except… Nana has no clue what is to happen next. Her script for the next section is blank…
We all know what that means, right? XD
Nana: So.. it just means we’re going to go with the flow and have fun, right?
Misato: Actually, it’s more like you’re going make fun FOR us.
The theme for the corner this time will be “A travel report.” It’s where Misato makes Nana talk about places she’s never been before as though she has been there recently.
Warning: There are zero facts in this… Except maybe the country where the place is located. Otherwise, everything is purely made-up.
First place: Pyramid.
Imaginary talk 1: Nana says that it was very windy that day. That’s why there were a lot of sand blowing. When she was trying to eat a sandwich, she also ended up eating sand.
When going inside, she triggered some sort of trap and had a lot of trouble getting out. When Misato asked if she got cursed for entering the pyramid, Nana says she doesn’t think so as she’s still alive. Lol.
Second place: Niagara
Before the imaginary talk begins, Misato tests Nana’s geographic knowledge. Where’s Niagara? Nana answers correctly by saying Canada. Where in Canada exactly? She says right in the center… ^^;; Because no one in Smile-Gang ever corrected her, I feel like I should mention that no, it’s not in the center. It’s located in Southern Ontario, between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. It’s practically the border between Ontario (Canada) and New York (US). And yes, I’m Canadian. 😛
Imaginary talk 2: She had been in a swim suit (resulting from Smile-Gang’s crappy photoshop work, apparently XD) when she visited the place 10 years ago. The first thing she said when she saw the Falls was “This feels great!” She also said that she found out people lived behind the Falls, except it was a summer-only thing. Hahahahaha.
Third place: Mont Saint-Michel
Imaginary talk 3: People inside were all religious followers and were praying. As the people there all speak French, she could not hold any conversations and only said “merci” when she was there. XDD She also came up with some lyrics for a song when she was there… When asked to sing a phrase… Well, that’s what you hear. XDD;;
Fourth place: The moon
Imaginary talk 4: Nanamatopoeia in its full effect here. Basically, she says something like this when walking on the moon (but not quite, since its japanese onamatopoeia). “It’s like going “whee~” and then “pui” and then “guruguru.””
Erm… Yeah… ^^;; When asked why she went to the moon, she said because she thought it would be a good challenge. XDD
That’s pretty much it for the corner. Misato ends off asking how Nana feels about this corner.
Nana: I feel like this corner is good for nothing.
Lol. Misato comforts her by saying that she had fun. XDD
And then we get to hear Jikuu Sapphire. We’ve heard bits of it from the MEIJI commercial already, but this is the place where they first aired an uninterrupted preview.
I quite like this song. It’s one of those I’d like to listen to when driving on a clear night. :3
And that’s that. Now time to listen to Smile-Gang 531.
