水樹奈々-いつか歌いたいオリジナル演歌 [Mizuki Nana]

If you’re not completely sold on buying Mizuki Nana’s autobiography yet, I’m sure danie’s most recent post will convince you.
^It really will tell you all the reasons why you have to buy it.

I could cry just reading those bits. Never mind when I get the book and flip it open.

I teared up in the final sentence of that news article. The final quote quoted was taken from the end of the autobiography itself:
“「いつか自分のために書き下ろされた演歌を歌いたい」という夢を果たした時、初めて「父と見た長い夢が形になる。長い長い父とのレッスンが終わる」と締めくくっている。”
Alternate online source: here

Translation:
One day, I hope to be able to sing an enka song that is written solely for me. When that happens, that will be the moment when our dreams will take form. Only then, will the long lessons with my father reach an end.

;_;

But all of this have reminded me of this post I made back in 2009.

^That particular Smile-Gang broadcast (#384) still causes me to laugh hysterically. XDD

It’ll provide a good laugh after the tears. XD

EDIT: Fixed link. Accidentally linked comments instead of post… OTL … Though they did lead to the same place. XDD;;

  1. She already wrote an autobiography? Although it does seem to be more common for young people, who still have a life ahead of them, to write an autobiography (or have a biography written about them).
    I’d be really surprised if you didn’t purchase it. XDD

    • Hahaha. I’ve already pre-ordered. 😛
      Admittedly, it was much cheaper than I thought. If it was priced higher, I likely would have hesitated.
      The whole autobiography thing is taking advantage of her current popularity. While it may seem “early” now is the best time to “sell” it.
      Years from now, when her popularity declines, less people will buy her autobiography… There’s no way they’d give up a chance to maximize profit. 😛

      • Of course. 😀
        (Yeah.. maybe hesitated… for a moment. 🙂 )
        *nods* Yup. It definitely makes most sense. One can’t really know in what direction her career will go in the future, and most people have short memories.

  2. it seem that ep384 smile-gang do make true story abt nana but this time we going to get the full story abt her past life! ^_^ *but is sad to hear her bad side of her life* but i need some 1 to translate T_T *sob*

  3. Despite her tiny size, she is a woman with big voice and big heart, very strong person. I admire her more after I read it. I’m sure the late dad and the rest of her family are very proud of her.
    There is another site with summary of Shin Ai. This one gives some information about sexual harassment. http://www.j-cast.com/2011/01/18085832.html Omg, in the second page, if I didn’t read it wrong (I used google trans to help) that perverted teacher lived in the same roof and she had to endure it for 5 years, hadn’t she? That was so terrible.
    I also want her to be able to fulfill her and dad’s dream by releasing an original enka album but please don’t abandon your jpop side, Nana.
    So, that Smile Gang episode wasn’t just a joke. It’s hilarious but when I remembered her words in Shin Ai I feel sad at the same time.

    • Thanks for alerting me of that news article!
      I’ve translated it in my latest post… But yes, she did have to endure it for a little over 5 years…
      And I completely agree with you. Knowing what she had to go through to get to where she is now makes me admire her even more.
